VEHICLE REGISTRATION

12,192,202 vehicle registrations were issued.

2,251,529 vehicle registrations were processed through the mail renewal registration program.

1,143,606 temporary tag registrations were sold.

1,195,648 temporary tags were consigned to Ohio Auto Dealers.

Telecommunications

1,743,554 calls were answered by the BMV telephone centers.

4,528,557 pieces of incoming mail were received by the BMV.

15,955,363 pieces of out going mail were processed by the BMV, including mail-in vehicle registration notices and vehicle registrations issued through the mail-in program.

204,087 license plates were processed by Ohio Penal industries.

Deputy Registrar services

225,383 new voters were registered by Ohio’s Deputy Registrars.

49.10% of Ohio drivers made the commitment to be organ/tissue donors.

13,938,962 transactions were processed by Deputy Registrars. This business resulted in $641,642,510 for the State of Ohio.

$1,383,335 was collected for Save Our Sight Fund.

$604,702 was collected for the Second Chance Trust Fund.

CHARITIES

$313,895 was raised by the Department of Public Safety for the Combined Charitable Campaign.

$33,191 contributed and 36,820 cans of food collected; totaling 103,202 meals for Operation Feed.

$8,891 contributed and 10,421 pounds of food collected; totaling 28,203 meals for the Holiday Food Baskets.

$17,882 was received in recycling reimbursement from the recycling of 557,831 pounds of material from obsolete records, pamphlets, telephone books, green-bar paper, miscellaneous paper products and cardboard.

564,860 pounds of license plates were recycled.

6,846,756 titles were issued in Ohio’s 88 counties by 88 main and 56 branch offices of the Clerk of Courts.

The BMV made accurate and timely distribution of payments for license tax revenue, permissive tax revenue and out-of-state International Registration Plan (IRP) revenue in 2004.

License revenue distributed = $323,034,732

Permissive tax revenue distributed = $146,825,021

Total revenue distributed to 2,297 taxing districts and 88 counties = $469,859,753

IRP revenue distributed to 58 out-of-state jurisdictions = $61,274,832

Total revenue distributed to Ohio & out-of-state jurisdictions = $531,134,585
